I’m throwing SEO strategy to the wayside in this post (*gasp!*) and just writing a heartfelt message to y’all.
In just a couple of days, I’ll be logging completely offline. I’m deleting my client email and phone apps from my phone. I won’t post any content to Private Practice Skills. I won’t send out weekly emails. I will be totally MIA. I’ve never done this before!
What blows my mind is that this week also marks the one year anniversary of Private Practice Skills. (!!)
Whaaaat?
I can’t even believe it!
What started as a middle of the night idea has blossomed into a wonderful platform that’s so much more than I could have imagined when I first dreamt of Private Practice Skills.
What’s funny is that in my original dream, I would have already launched a full e-course by now. And though it’s still very much underway, it won’t be launching until after I’m back from leave.
But it’s not just about the e-course anymore. I receive emails from y’all every day sharing how my videos and blogs have empowered you to launch into private practice. Not only that, but I’m constantly hearing from you how my approach to my business has helped you feel permission to do private practice your way, without the stigmas we pick up along the way.
Whenever I receive one of your messages or comments, I get a huge smile on my face. This is why I do what I do! I think my husband might even be getting annoyed by how many of your messages I’ve excitedly read aloud to him at this point.
A Heartfelt Thank You
Without you, Private Practice Skills surely would have died by now. I’m so grateful for you and your kindness. Surprisingly, I seemed to have attracted the kindest, most gracious, and least troll-like online community ever. So thank you for that. Yes, YOU reading this right now! Seriously.
If I’m honest, a part of me is really sad that I’ll be stepping away from this outlet for a number of months while I welcome a newborn into my life (all mommy tips and hacks are welcome!). Creating weekly content for Private Practice Skills has been a joyful creative outlet for me.
I’m grieving that this will be the last blog post I write for a while and swapping content creation for the joy that is nursing, blowout diapers, and all that comes with welcoming a new human into the world.
I’m truly joyful that this season of parenthood is finally arriving in my life, but I’ll miss this strange land of content creation while I’m away. I’m sure I’ll be itching to come back before you know it!
In the meantime, I’ve pre-uploaded videos to my YouTube channel, set to go live each week while I’m on leave. If you want to receive new content from me while I’m away, make sure you subscribe to my YouTube channel by clicking here. It’s the only place on the internet that I’ll still be active while I’m away.
Until next time (in several months), from one therapist to another: I wish you well!
